Hot tub pumps
Hot tub pumps and pump parts
Jet pumps, circulation pumps, wet ends, seals and blowers, matched to the label on your old pump. Here's what to check and what to send us.
Before you order: rule out the simple stuff
Weak jets are usually water, not the pump. Hot Spring's troubleshooting table lists low water, clogged filters or suction screens, and closed jets or air controls as the causes of weak or surging jets.
- The spa has power: GFCI and breaker on, topside lit.
- Water is above the skimmer, the filter is clean (try running briefly without it, power off to remove it), and valves and jets are open.
- Any code on the topside is written down exactly.
- After a refill, the pumps are primed (no airlock).
Our guides hot tub not heating, weak jets and airlock after a refill walk through the safe checks.
Which part? Common symptoms
| What you're seeing | Parts often involved |
|---|---|
| Pump hums but won't spin | Seized motor or bearings, start component, or the pack's relay |
| Runs on high but not low (or the reverse) | Motor winding, or the control pack's relay for that speed |
| Water under the pump | Shaft seal, wet end gasket, unions |
| Loud grinding or screeching | Motor bearings |
| Runs fine, weak flow, filter clean | Impeller, airlock, closed valve |
Pumps and blowers we source
Jet pumps
One- and two-speed jet pumps, matched by horsepower, voltage, frame and plumbing size from the pump label.
Common sign: Pump hums but won't spin, runs on one speed only, or is noisy.
Circulation pumps
Small, quiet circulation pumps for spas with 24-hour circulation or a dedicated heater pump.
Common sign: Flow codes on a circ-pump spa, or a circ pump that's silent or loud.
Pump wet ends, seals & impellers
Wet ends, shaft seals, impellers and gaskets for the pump you have.
Common sign: Water dripping under the pump, or weak flow from a motor that runs fine.
Air blowers
Spa air blowers and check valves, matched to your control and voltage.
Common sign: Blower won't run, or water has backed up into it.
What to send us
A clear photo of the pump's motor label (horsepower, voltage, amps, speeds, frame) and the wet end, plus the plumbing size where it connects (usually 1.5 or 2 inch). Matching those keeps the new pump bolt-in.
Where to find the model and part numbers
- The spa's model and serial label is usually inside the equipment bay, on the cabinet frame or the control pack, or on the skirt. Your owner's manual or receipt also lists the model.
- Pumps, heaters and control packs each have their own label with a part number, voltage and horsepower or wattage. Photograph those too.
- Turn the spa off at its GFCI or breaker before you open the equipment bay to look.
- Topside panels often have a part number on the back. If it's still mounted, a photo of the front is fine.

Common questions
Can I replace just the motor or the seal?
Often, yes. Wet ends, seals and impellers are sold separately for many pumps. A tech can tell you whether a seal kit or a whole pump makes more sense for yours.
What if my pump label is unreadable?
Send photos of the whole pump, the plumbing connections and your spa's model label. We can often identify it from the spa and the pump's shape.
Do I need an electrician to replace a hot tub pump?
The pump connects to the control pack at high voltage. A qualified spa technician or licensed electrician should make that connection, with the spa off at its GFCI or breaker.
